Ron Wallsmith

Ron Wallsmith’s career as a classroom teacher, counsellor and administrator has spanned more than 40 years. The first 34 years of his career were spent in the Maple Ridge School District where he worked at Westview Secondary School, Pitt Meadows Secondary School and Garibaldi Secondary School. In September of 2007 Ron and his wife Terry left Maple Ridge to take on the challenge of working in the BC Offshore School system moving to China for four years. Ron became the Principal of a school in Beijing for one year and then opened a new school in Shanghai where he remained the Principal for three years seeing the inaugural class through until graduation in June of 2011. Upon his return to Canada Ron became an Independent School Inspector for the BC Ministry of Education. In his role as an inspector he returned to China on three occasions to inspect BC Offshore Schools.
